PDF (Portable Document Format) documents are self-contained digital files, emcompassing all the featuresof the original document. They can be opened reliably and look exactly as intended with page layout, formatting, and images intact. You can also include such interactive features as buttons to pages and even forms.

They are optimised and condensed into small size files for inclusion for download from web sites or onto cd-roms, and their compact sizing makes them ideal for attaching to e-mail messages.

They can be either full colour or black or white, with images or without, and any size can be accommodated. A classic example of pdf technology would be an instruction manual for a product, which anyone online could download and view.
