Apple’s Quicktime VR technology can be used on web sites and multimedia cds to provide panoramic and object movies of scenes or objects, such as an interior of a building or a tennis shoe.

The ability to get hold of an object on screen with your mouse and turn it 360° is obviously superior to a static image of the same article. As is the ability to view a scene or landscape at 360° with simple mouse control.

The Quicktime plug-in can be downloaded and installed in minutes.

A very good vehicle to incorporate Quicktime VR technology would be an e-commerce site with an online catalogue and the products e.g.clothing, to be made available as vr images that can be rotated to view in a 3D perspective.

This would enable the online customer to view the goods in a much better and clearer way than, say a paper alternative in the form of a catalogue.

Or how about the opening of a new restaurant with vr images on the interior on the web site? This is all possible with Quicktime VR.
